It's January!

OK, so now the movie ELF is stuck in my head. I like the movie. It's fiction, not based on reality so if someone says something derrogatory about adoption, just raspberry them. But, there are some famous lines in there.....one of which "I'm singing! I'm in a store and I'm singing!"

Another gift for me! I went to my Lupus doctor today. I had noticed that when my steroids were reduced about 9 days ago, I went backwards in my progress. So, my father in law took me down there and he prayed when I was in the office. Turned out that the doctor DID indeed increase the other medicine that reduces my over-active immune system. It should be a couple of weeks before we know if it will work or not....let's hope it does. If not, then he has another medicine he wants to try.

Thanks to my PT, who helped me find the right words! She sat with me yesterday after noticing the backwards progress and we spent a few minutes on how to approach the doctor so he could best understand. So, today when he walked in the exam room and asked "how are you?" and I said "super" (like always) I then said "Oh, let me qualify that. I mean my attitude and spirit are super, but we really need to do something about what's going on with my body."

I start my new dose tonight! I told him how the combination of the increased steroids and the Mastinon gave me such a glimmer of normalicy and I told him I want that back! He definitely feels like it's Myasthenia Gravis with Lambert Eaton. Ok, remind me to get that scan done of the mass in my lung. That's next. I think it will be fine, just get it done anyway.
